Air vents are integral components of many applications and play a major in the performance and reliability of fluid transport systems by releasing air pockets during water transport as well as helping wastewater treatment plants do their job in an efficient manner while also preventing vacuum formation for properly draining (and evacuating) other industrial fluid-filled compartments. Generally, air vents do not need a lot of maintenance as compared to other types of valves because their design eliminates debris and contaminants entering the valve thus reducing service and cleaning needs.
