air release plug

Air release plugs (also called air release valves) are used to automatically expel the air that collects in a piping system. They are a key component in keeping piping system up and running efficiently while avoiding water hammer. Air release valves are typically applied in high points on the piping system to automatically vent air. Air pockets can develop during pipe filling events or when the pump starts, and if they are not released quickly enough, they create pressure surges which can damage pipes.

Air vents are integral components of many applications and play a major in the performance and reliability of fluid transport systems by releasing air pockets during water transport as well as helping wastewater treatment plants do their job in an efficient manner while also preventing vacuum formation for properly draining (and evacuating) other industrial fluid-filled compartments. Generally, air vents do not need a lot of maintenance as compared to other types of valves because their design eliminates debris and contaminants entering the valve thus reducing service and cleaning needs.

Enhanced Equipment Protection

The internal design of air vents typically reduces the likelihood that material will come in and clog the valve, so these types of valves can often go longer between services than others. Air vents have great endurance and survive long in the water system which subsequently decreased maintenance costs and operating efficiency.

Due to varying pressure conditions that may exist in a residential setting, air vents can adjust to not only ensure the system is operating as efficiently as possible but also safely. These are used to keep pipe and equipment from getting damaged in a high-pressure area or to provide continuous fluid flow by discharging air when there is no power (in low pressure zones) Air vents are also engineered with safety and climate elements to allow for safe operations in hazardous or dirty fields.
